You’re broken but seemingly irreplaceable,
I lack focus, my mind unattainable,
We meet every now and then,
In the scintillating valley of off-timing,
We run away as our chemistry turns into lightening.
Gone are the days when I was just man ruled by my vices,
You too have bid adieu to your kingdom of niceness,
Your tear at the tip of your finger,
Like a raindrop on the leaf of a timber,
My anger that burned like an amber,
Reminder of all things wrong.
Told me your heartbroken stories,
Like a woman late to the climax of her story,
All I could see in the moment,
Was a dreamwork seated in glory,
As you burst out into the obscenity of your tiny tailored world,
Each shrapnel felt like a healing curse.
Wish the clockwork in here was faulty,
For time always races by when you’re across the corner,
You tell me you hate it when I get poetic,
To be your muse would be the bigger honour.
My mind is clouded when I look at you,
Even though I have been sober for days,
Knew I had to get ahold of you,
As soon as I was caught in your gaze.
Wish I could dance proper,
For proper is all you deserve,
I know you got your issues too,
Still a high place for you my heart has reserved,
I see you’ve met my friends, my enemies you’ve met a few,
God damn would they feel so powerless,
If they felt about you the way that I do.
Hope we meet again, for I cannot chase you any longer,
I’ll greet you with my funny crooked smile,
I promise this time I’ll kiss you longer,
Hoping you don’t enter the establishment,
With a man around your corner,
I can only wish for that to happen,
For my timing has never been forced,
Could I’ve been bolder in my endeavours?
Sometimes, this love of mine seems like a hoax.
